Well hello there, I'm Catherine! My driver license says I'm 5'1 but I like to round up and pretend I'm 5'2, I have way too much energy for my own good, I'm an awful singer... like ear-bleeding awful, and I laugh at my own jokes.
Throughout the past year, every once-in-awhile someone would tell me I should create a blog. My typical reaction to this absurd idea was "HA? ME? A blog? Every diary I owned as a child had a lifespan of two entries, three at the most". And yet here I am, writing my first blog entry.
The name 'The Chronicle of a Chatty Catty' actually derived from my roommates. I was never big on nicknames, 'Catherine' was as basic as it got. Cat? Nope. Catie? Nah. Cathy? No ma'am. Just Catherine. Of course, that was until my roommate Sarah started the trend. I remember hearing it the first time and saying to Sarah "What did you just call me? Catty....?". Slowly but surely, all my roommates started calling me Catty. And from that point on, the nickname grew on me.
For those who know me, 'talkative' would be an understatement. Let's put it this way, if 'talking' was an Olympic event... I would easily take home the gold. I talk to people. I talk on the phone. I talk to animals. I talk to myself. I talk in my sleep. The point I'm trying to make is, I talk... a lot. Hence the derivation behind the name 'The Chronicle of a Chatty Catty'.
Truth be told, I have no idea who's going to stumble upon my blog. Perhaps only my family and friends, perhaps millions of readers, who knows. However, whether its just a few or a few million- I hope this entry and those yet to come will make those reading it smile, laugh, and find it relatable in some way.
Until next time,
- C
